Event Training

If you are a TCC competitor or Volunteer, it is highly recommended that you attend this event.
Join the IAA for an in depth overview and demonstration of the new Ascent event that will replace secured footlock in this year’s tree climbing championship.

May 7th from 9am to 12pm at Cantigny Park

The Event will Include:

• A general overview of the event, event rules and safety requirements.  
• A step by step demonstration of the event including explanation of scoring. 
• Demonstration of multiple ascent event set up/configuration options.
• An opportunity for attendees to practice and run the set up portion of the event(attendees will not leave the ground and perform an ascent).
• Q and A with instructors on all aspects of the event including your own personal gear and how to properly configure it for the event.  

This workshop will be presented by experienced climbing Arborists with many years of experience in real world tree work, TCC organization and Judging, and competitors.  

Instructors will include Alex Julius, Beau Nagan, and Eduardo Medina.

All confirmed TCC volunteers and competitors will receive admission for FREE.
Cost of Event: *Members $35 *Non-Members $45

Attendees: please bring PPE and climbing systems for evaluation.

This event will be worth 3 CEU’s.
