The event is priced at $295 per attendee, and this exclusive opportunity allows you to attend this event at no cost thanks to a grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. You must pre-register for this event to receive the complimentary admission fee.

Due to requests from IAA members, we are adding an ‘arborist knot tying’ station to our list of attractions. If you would like to learn a knot, hitch, or bend, or learn the difference between them, come over to the table and ask away. We will go over the different rope constructions and there advantages and limitations in arborist use. We will demonstrate the most common arborist knots and their applications, advantages and limitations (bowline, running bowline, cow hitch, timber hitch, clove hitch, marline hitch, alpine butterfly, VT, prusik hitch, quick hitch, sheet bend, barrel knot (double overhand), figure of eight knot, figure of eight follow through, bowline with a Yosemite tie off, circus bowline, bowline on a bight, 3-loop bowline and more). Come on over and test your skills and knowledge. All questions welcome. There will be Arborist knot tying books to peruse, and logs to tie knots and hitches on.
