Crew Leader – Equipment Operation Specialists

DUTIES:

  • Operate and maintain all assigned equipment in an efficient, safe and economical manner; such as; stump grinder, stand on skid steer, track loader, small and large trucks.
  • Provide quality customer service and job site clean-up to company standards. 
  • Efficiently use hand tools (shovel, rake, axe, pitchfork).
  • Efficiently check over equipment and vehicle prior to job site dispatch. 
  • Assist in mulch processing – customer delivery and on-site loading with skid steer and wheel loader. 
  • Complete work schedule in the most efficient time possible and to the satisfaction of the client.
  • Willingness to cross train and learn new tasks – chainsaw safety, tree felling, limbing & bucking, and mulch & firewood processing.  
  • Assist tree crew in ground operations – operate shredding and chipping equipment and feed limbs and brush into the machines.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Efficiently operate all equipment necessary to complete all job assignments.
  • Understand and practice preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • The ability to wear and utilize the appropriate equipment and proper PPE as required by company, clients, OSHA and ANSI standards.
  • Work directly with Sales to ensure all assigned tasks are thoroughly completed.
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time, which will involve standing, entering, and exiting vehicles/equipment, and assisting with cleanup of job sites involving the use of log carts, dragging brush, and picking up other forms of debris.
  • Ability to react appropriately in an emergency.

MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and up to 50lbs. of force frequently and up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
  • Stand and walk at and around the work site.
  • Reach (i.e.: extending arms, hands, and fingers) and handle (i.e.: holding and grasping tools, limbs, etc.) and twist.
  • Work with and around power tools and equipment (i.e., start and utilize front loader, stump grinder, shovel, rake, and equipment as necessary to complete the assigned task).
  • Balance (when using equipment), pull and push (i.e.: wheelbarrow).
  • Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.  
  • Organize and combine different pieces of information into meaningful order to identify problems. Communicate when issues arise to maintain safe working environment.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE/LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma preferred. 
  • Driver’s license and clean driving record required.
  • Valid driver’s license with CDL Class A with air brake endorsement. (Ability to attain within 90 days of hire)
  • On-the-job training provided by King Tree Specialists, Inc.
