Topic: Tech Plan for Reforestation
Now that most of your Ash trees are down, it’s time to begin or continue recovery. How should you plant for the future? Steve and Phil from Graf Tree and Natural Resource will go over a few case studies and reforestation strategies which examine “right tree, right site”, but also how to manage planting trees through time. We will focus on taxonomic diversity, spatial diversity, and age-class diversity, and how they can be realistically achieved without breaking the bank. Long term, targeted strategies will be discussed, including nursery shortages, real-life examples of contract growing and in-house growing, dealing with weather woes, and some emerging Best Management Practices when it comes to species selection and how the face of your Urban Forest can change.
