Topic: Soils and Urban Tree Health: What Can Soil and Water Conservation District Do to Help Support Our Reforestation Efforts?
Description: Please join us in learning more about the services provided by the Soil and Water Conservation Districts of North Cook County and DuPage-Kane County. The mission of the SWCD is safeguarding soil and water as non-regulatory local units of government, and could provide service to municipalities aimed at maintaining quality environments during development. To improve their services and outreach to other professions, we are excited for them to present their program to UCFF and deepen the understanding of how they can enhance urban and suburban tree planting programs. This meeting will start with an overview of research that examined soil and tree attributes from 5 landscapes across a spatial and temporal gradient in the western suburbs of Chicago.
