Temporary Summer Forestry Intern
Public Works Department
The Village of Arlington Heights, a northwest suburb of Chicago, population 75,100 is seeking a temporary Forestry Intern in the Public Works Department for the summer. Applicants should be in the process of obtaining a degree in the field of Forestry, Forestry Management, Botany, Ecology or a related field. This position will require knowledge of tree identification and tree physiology.
Applicant must be able to work independently and outdoors for an extended period of time. Computer skills in Microsoft Office and ESRI Software are a plus, but not required. Must be a minimum of 18 years old, ability to lift 50 pounds, ability to climb ladders, and operate power tools & equipment.
Hours for this position will be scheduled between 7:00am – 3:30pm, Monday through Friday, $18.00 per hour. A valid Driver’s License is required. This position is temporary.
