We are thrilled to invite you to participate in the Illinois Arborist Association 41st Annual Conference & Trade Show the premier event in the Arboriculture sector! This year’s trade show promises to be bigger and better than ever, featuring an impressive lineup of educational sessions and exciting demonstration areas designed to engage attendees.
Due to requests from IAA members, we are adding an ‘arborist knot tying’ station to our list of attractions. If you would like to learn a knot, hitch, or bend, or learn the difference between them, come over to the table and ask away. We will go over the different rope constructions and there advantages and limitations in arborist use. We will demonstrate the most common arborist knots and their applications, advantages and limitations (bowline, running bowline, cow hitch, timber hitch, clove hitch, marline hitch, alpine butterfly, VT, prusik hitch, quick hitch, sheet bend, barrel knot (double overhand), figure of eight knot, figure of eight follow through, bowline with a Yosemite tie off, circus bowline, bowline on a bight, 3-loop bowline and more). Come on over and test your skills and knowledge. All questions welcome. There will be Arborist knot tying books to peruse, and logs to tie knots and hitches on.
