Job Summary: The Purchasing Coordinator has the responsibilities of accurately entering data, issuing PO’s, placing and following up on sod orders, communicating updates on purchases, and maintaining records. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide data entry and administrative support as needed.
  • Issue Purchase Orders when purchases are needed.
  • Updating ‘Open’ Purchase Orders
  • Provide Purchase Orders for internal requests: marketing, facility’s needs and yard material. Assist Purchaser with the pricing, sourcing, photos and additional data for bids.
  • Solicit quotes from vendors for bids balancing price, quality, and delivery concerns.
  • Maintain accurate and open records so that all the Company units know whatproducts are available, at what price, and when they will be delivered.
  • Assist Receiving and Accounts Payable in PO’s updates and corrections.
  • Collect and place orders daily for appropriate vendors.
  • Convert Acknowledgements into Purchase Order.
  • Assist with Construction permits
  • Schedule shipments, update driver map book, maintain vender information and fillcompleted paperwork.
  • Print pickups for runner.
  • Assist Purchasers with additional requests.

Education and/or Work Experience

  • HS Diploma or GED required. College degree preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience is also fully qualifying.
  • Two years of administrative work experience required.
  • Experience with vendor relations and light accounting or bookkeeping duties preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Developed organizational skills, effective communication skills and an ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Proven ability to establish good internal and external working relationships. Ability to use technology to maintain accurate records and to advance goals. Computer skills – including email, word processing, database usage with a strong attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties require maintaining physical condition necessary for walking, standing and sitting for prolonged periods of time; may be required to push, pull, bend, lift light to moderate objects (30 lbs.), carry, reach, and stoop; finger dexterity is essential. Maintain mental capacity that permits making sound judgments regarding work and have regular attendance.
