Job Description:  Plant Health Care Assistant (Part-Time)
Reports to:  Plant Health Care Manager
Department:  Plant Health Care

The following is a list of specific duties, which are considered to be essential functions of the Office /Clerical Assistant position.  The list is not exhaustive, as all positions at Kramer Tree Specialists The employee who occupies this position is expected to assume any/all duties assigned by management irrespective of whether such duties are specifically included in this list.  While an effort has been made to thoroughly describe the customary manner in which this job is performed, reasonable accommodation will be made for qualified individuals who may not be able to perform the job in the manner indicated.


The main objectives of the PHC Assistant position is to provide part time clerical to the PHC office functions, and office staff as needed, and as directed by the PHC Manager.  This will be accomplished by the timely, accurate, and professional completion of all duties and tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor.  Duties shall include the items listed below as essential functions.


  • Provide general administrative support to the PHC Department.
  • Work closely with the PHC A/R Assistant and Department Supervisor performing (but not limited to) the following listed tasks:
  • Answering phone calls with recording & processing of information
  • Making pre-application notifications by phone and email
  • Entry of information into the ASW software program
  • Filing of proposals & work orders
  • Assist in the renewal process
  • Assist with Accounts Receivables
  • Assist with the maintenance of site maps for WO’s
  • Assist in other areas of KTS as needed
  • Continuous maintenance of the Company blog
  • Proof and/or write articles or documents


  • A pleasant and outgoing nature, can take instruction, positively interact and effectively communicate with other team members.
  • Can function as a team member as well as work alone to accomplish goals and tasks in a timely manner.
  • During times of peak work load can work adjusted work hours as assigned.
  • Can follow and execute specific actions and tasks provided by written and verbal instruction.
  • Ability to be cross trained in other areas of the PHC Department.
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds


  • Computer proficiency – Microsoft Word & Outlook programs. General computer background and exposure to various software packages is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organizational skills, pursuing accuracy with attention to detail.
  • General office skill experience.
  • The ability to work independently with guidance.
  • Green industry employment experience is a plus (but not necessarily a necessity).
  • High School diploma
