Job Description

Serve as a Plant Health Care Technician with the primary responsibility of administering chemical applications to plants on client property. Technician will be properly trained by Plant Health Care Coordinator. Wage is comparable to experience and qualifications.


  • Chemical treatment of trees and shrubs on residential and commercial properties
  • Ability to properly apply pesticides in a variety of methods including foliar, soil injection, soil drench, bark spray and root collar injection
  • Understands and implements equipment maintenance
  • Daily record-keeping of work orders
  • Understands and follows pesticide application work orders
  • Understands and follows chemical labeling
  • Uses all appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Understands and follows proper chemical mixing and transportation
  • Demonstrates proper pesticide application skills
  • Implements drift control
  • Follows correct pesticide container disposal
  • Is prepared to work as a member of a tree care crew, under the crew leader’s supervision
  • Follows directions of Plant Health Care Coordinator, Crew Leader and Owner
  • Learns, understands and follows all safety rules and company policies
  • Participates in weekly Safety Meetings
  • Communicates well with clientele
  • Communicates well with Plant Health Care Coordinator, Crew Leader, Crew Members & Owner


  • Strong plant identification skills
  • Must possess or have the ability to possess an Illinois Pesticide Operator License within 30 days of employment
  • Must possess or have the ability to possess a valid Class-B CDL Driver’s License within 60 days of employment
  • Ability to properly lift 50+ pounds and walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to work under adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to work nights and weekends for specific properties
  • Experience preferred
